In August 2020 our Director bought her first property and journeyed on to purchase various pieces of furniture and kitchenware. It became increasingly apparent that the glassware available to purchase was not satisfying enough for several reasons.

Given her creative abilities and experience with design, this then led her to start to sketch what her ideal glassware would look like. The designs were formulated around what would enhance the wine drinking experience, what would be the most minimalist but aesthetically pleasing designs and most importantly, how to curate a luxury experience that can be enjoyed by all at home, for a competitive price point.

In the same month however, her Grandad passed away. He played a pivotal role in her life and was what she would describe as her 'personal person'; sent directly for her. She then decided that she would try to make sure his name would stay alive and proceeded to turn the above into a brand that would not only service others, but honour her Grandfather.

This is how MNY was born; in honour and remembrance of Mohammed Nortey Yeboah. Grandfather, Father and Brother.

About Our Glasses

Designed in-house with unique and carefully thought outspecifications.

Craft

Each one of our glasses is made individually by skilled artisans. This allows for the ultra thin walls and rims of the glass that greatly enhances the wine drinking experience.

Lead-free Crystal

Our glasses are made from crystal as opposed to glass. Crystal is much stronger and durable and so can be made thinner; resulting in an elegant, lightweight and ultra thin glass that brings nothing but pleasure with each sip of your favourite wine.

Clarity & Brilliance

Because of crystal glass' refracting properties, they have an incredible sparkle to them and are more transparent than normal glass. Sight is the first sense used when drinking wine, it allows us to examine its colour and viscosity to gauge its age and ingredients.

We are moving away from glassware as a utensil and into glassware as a curated and deserved experience at home. If you like what you see, click the link below and join the others that have found a greater love for glassware and wine through MNY!
